Pupil Premium
Our vision is to ensure that teaching and learning meets the needs of all pupils and that appropriate provision is made for pupils in vulnerable groups. This also includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils (FSM) are identified and strategies put in place to narrow the gap in their attainment.
In making provision for socially disadvantaged pupils we recognise that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged and that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered, or qualify, for free school meals. As a result we reserve the right to allocate Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or group of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged. Any group will be made up of FSM and non-FSM pupils with similar needs.
Range of Provision
Pupils working in small groups focussed on overcoming gaps in learning and meet individual targets.
Additional teaching and learning opportunities provided by trained TAs and qualified teachers.
Assistance from outside agencies with assessments. Pastoral or emotional support through nurturing activities. Financial assistance to allow full participation in school activities.
Measuring Success
By using the funds as described we aim to raise and improve pupils’ progress and achievement, attitude towards learning, wellbeing and self esteem. Progress will be monitored by tracking results at the end of autumn and spring terms and in June.

PE and Sports Premium
Parklands Primary School receives a sports funding grant from the government to secure a significant and lasting legacy for the children. The aim is to develop an enjoyment of sport and physical activity, and to promote a healthy lifestyle in children from an early age.
Eligible schools Funding for schools will be calculated by reference to the number of primary-aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11), as recorded in the annual schools census
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on the provision of P.E. and sport in schools.
Purpose of funding Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
Possible uses for the funding might include:
- hiring specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with primary teachers when teaching PE
- supporting and engaging the least active children through new or additional Change4Life clubs
- paying for professional development opportunities for teachers in PE and sport providing cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE and sport
- running sport competitions, or increasing pupils’ participation in the School Games
- buying quality assured professional development modules or materials for PE and sport providing places for pupils on after school sports clubs and holiday clubs
- pooling the additional funding with that of other local schools

Maintained schools are now required to publish salary information on any employee earning over £100,000 per annum.
Currently the school does not have any employees who have a gross annual salary of £100,000 or more.
